Daily Bhagavad Gita Inspiration 📖✨| Day 34 🧘‍♂️M-Day Bhagvad Gita Quote | Chapter 2: Sankhya Yoga |

Shloka 55

🌟 Sanskrit:
श्रीभगवानुवाच |

प्रजहाति यदा कामान्सर्वान्पार्थ मनोगतान् |

आत्मन्येवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते || 2.55 ||

🌟 Transliteration:

śrī-bhagavān uvāca |

prajahāti yadā kāmān sarvān pārtha mano-gatān |

ātmany-evātmanā tuṣṭaḥ sthita-prajñas tadocyate ||

🌟 Meaning:
The Supreme Lord said: O Partha, when a person completely casts away all the desires of the mind and is satisfied in the self by the self alone, then they are said to be a person of steady wisdom.

🌟 Explanation:
Krishna provides the very first and most important characteristic of an enlightened person (sthita-prajña). It is not about gaining something, but about giving up—specifically, giving up all the selfish desires that are concocted by the mind (mano-gatān). The key is that their happiness is not dependent on anything external. They are completely satisfied (tuṣṭaḥ) from within, finding joy in their true spiritual self (ātmani).

Shloka 56

🌟 Sanskrit:
दुःखेष्वनुद्विग्नमनाः सुखेषु विगतस्पृहः |

वीतरागभयक्रोधः स्थितधीर्मुनिरुच्यते || 2.56 ||

🌟 Transliteration:

duḥkheṣv-anudvigna-manāḥ sukheṣu vigata-spṛhaḥ |

vīta-rāga-bhaya-krodhaḥ sthita-dhīr munir uchyate ||

🌟 Meaning:
One whose mind is not disturbed by misery, who does not hanker for pleasure, and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage of steady wisdom.

 Explanation:🌟
Krishna elaborates on how this inner contentment manifests externally. A sage of steady wisdom (sthita-dhīr muniḥ) displays perfect equanimity. Their mind is not agitated or shaken when faced with the three-fold miseries of life (duḥkheṣu anudvigna-manāḥ). Conversely, when pleasant things happen, they don't develop a craving (vigata-spṛhaḥ) for more. This is because they are free from the three great mental poisons: attachment (rāga), fear (bhaya), and anger (krodha).

Today’s Takeaway

Find happiness within, not without. The foundation of steady wisdom is self-satisfaction. When your joy comes from your own inner self, the external world loses its power to disturb you. You can navigate life's inevitable ups and downs with a calm and steady mind, free from the grip of desire, fear, and anger. This is the goal of a truly peaceful life. ✨

JAI SHRI KRISHNA👋💓💕💕💙💙💚💚💛💛💝💝💞💟💫🙌🙇🙏
