Shloka 66🌟 Sanskrit:
नास्ति बुद्धिरयुक्तस्य न चायुक्तस्य भावना |
न चाभावयतः शान्तिरशान्तस्य कुतः सुखम् || 2.66 ||
🌟 Transliteration:
nāsti buddhir ayuktasya na cāyuktasya bhāvanā |
na cābhāvayataḥ śāntir aśāntasya kutaḥ sukham ||
🌟 Meaning:
One who is not connected with the Divine (in Krishna consciousness) can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?
🌟 Explanation:
Krishna lays out a clear and stark chain of logic. He states that a person who is ayukta—unconnected, undisciplined, and not engaged in spiritual practice—cannot develop a steady, decisive intelligence (buddhi). Without that stable intelligence, one cannot have bhāvanā—steady contemplation or a positive mindset. Without steady contemplation, there can be no peace (śānti). And Krishna ends with a piercing question: for a person who is unpeaceful (aśāntasya), where is the question of happiness (sukham)? It is a powerful declaration that happiness is impossible without inner peace, which itself depends on a controlled, focused mind.

🌟 Sanskrit:
इन्द्रियाणां हि चरतां यन्मनोऽनुविधीयते |
तदस्य हरति प्रज्ञां वायुर्नावमिवाम्भसि || 2.67 ||
🌟 Transliteration:
indriyāṇāṁ hi caratāṁ yan mano ’nuvidhīyate |
tad asya harati prajñāṁ vāyur nāvam ivāmbhasi ||
🌟 Meaning:
As a boat on the water is swept away by a strong wind, even one of the roaming senses on which the mind focuses can carry away a person's intelligence.
🌟 Explanation:
Krishna provides a brilliant and cautionary metaphor to illustrate the danger of an uncontrolled mind. He compares a person's intelligence to a boat and the senses to the wind. Even if most senses are controlled, if the mind allows itself to follow just one of the wandering senses, that single distraction is powerful enough to "hijack" the intelligence and carry it away. Just as a single strong gust of wind can completely overwhelm a boat and drive it off course, a single uncontrolled sense can wreck a person's spiritual stability and judgment.
Today’s Takeaway
Peace is the foundation of happiness. You cannot find true joy in a state of inner turmoil. This peace is not accidental; it is the direct result of a disciplined mind and controlled senses. Be vigilant, because even a single uncontrolled desire can act like a strong wind, derailing your journey and robbing you of your intelligence and peace. Protect your inner calm—it is your most valuable asset. ⚓❤️
