Shloka 11
🌟 Sanskrit:
बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्यहमेव वः |
वित्वा योगं सांसिद्धिमं वेद सन्सृत्यात्मवान् || 4.11 ||
🌟 Transliteration:
bahūnāṁ janmānām ante jñānavāny aham eva vaḥ |
vitvā yogaṁ sāṁsiddhimaṁ veda saṁsṛtyātmanam ||
🌟 Meaning:
Out of many millions of births, he alone attains spiritual knowledge who surrenders unto Me; knowing Me thus, he breaks free from birth and death.
Explanation
Krishna describes the extraordinary rarity of spiritual wisdom. Although innumerable souls undergo cycles of birth and death, only a very few come to true knowledge (jñānavān) by surrendering to Krishna (aham eva vaḥ). Those fortunate ones transcend the endless cycles of reincarnation (saṁsṛtyātmanam) by understanding and practicing this supreme yoga.
Today’s Takeaway
Surrender opens the door to wisdom. True spiritual knowledge is not just intellectual but involves heartfelt surrender to the Divine. When you sincerely seek and surrender, you join the rare few who escape the cycle of birth and death.
