Transliteration:

Tasy─Бhaс╣Б nigrahaс╣Б manye v─Бyor iva su-duс╣гhkaram.
Meaning:
Arjuna said: O Krishna, the mind is restless, turbulent, strong and obstinate. Controlling it is as difficult as controlling the wind.
Explanation:
Arjuna openly shares his struggle — the mind is flickering, powerful, and stubborn. He compares controlling it to catching the wind. This honest confession makes Arjuna (and us) very relatable!

Meaning:
The Supreme Lord said: O mighty-armed one, undoubtedly the mind is difficult to control and restless. But it can be controlled by repeated practice (abhyasa) and detachment (vairagya).
Explanation:
Krishna acknowledges the difficulty but gives hope and a clear solution. Two powerful tools — regular practice and detachment from sense objects — can gradually bring the mind under control. No magic, just consistent effort!

Va┼Ыhy─Бtman─Б tu yatat─Б ┼Ыhakyo ’v─Бptum up─Бyataс╕е.
Meaning:
For one whose mind is uncontrolled, yoga is very difficult to attain. But for one who has mastered the mind and strives with proper means, it is possible to achieve.
Explanation:
Krishna is realistic: Without mind control, success in yoga is extremely hard. But the person who learns to discipline the mind and makes sincere effort can definitely reach the goal. Hope + action = success!
Today’s TakeawayThe mind is restless like the wind — but it can be tamed!
Don’t feel discouraged if your mind wanders during meditation. Accept the challenge, then use the two powerful keys Krishna gave: regular daily practice (abhyasa) and detachment (vairagya). With patience and effort, even the most restless mind can become steady. Progress is possible for everyone who tries sincerely!
