Shloka 13
🌟 Sanskrit:
चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः |
तस्य कर्तारमपि मां विद्ध्यकर्तारमव्ययम् || 4.13 ||
🌟 Transliteration:
chāturvarṇyaṁ mayā sṛṣṭaṁ guṇa-karma-vibhāgaśaḥ
tasya kartāram api māṁ viddhy akartāram avyayam
🌟 Meaning:
The fourfold order was created by Me according to the divisions of qualities and actions. Although I am its creator, know Me as the non-doer and immutable.
🌟 Explanation:
Krishna clarifies he created the social system (चातुर्वर्ण्यं) based on natural qualities (गुण) and duties (कर्म), not by birth labels. Importantly, though he is the Creator (कर्तारम्), he remains the non-doer (अकर्तारम्) and unchanging (अव्ययम्), because he is never personally entangled in any specific action or its result.

🌟 Transliteration:
na māṁ karmāṇi limpanti na me karma-phale spṛihā
iti māṁ yo ’bhijānāti kartāram api akartāram
sa māṁ na limpati karma-bhiḥ
🌟 Meaning:
Actions do not taint Me, nor do I desire the fruits of action. One who understands this truth about Me as doer yet non-doer is also not bound by actions.
🌟 Explanation:
Krishna lives the ideal: he performs infinite activity (sustaining universes, beings, laws), yet no karma sticks to Him because:
He has no ego of doership (“I am the agent”).
He has no desire for outcomes (स्पृहा)—no personal craving.
Those who realize this truth about Krishna's nature become like him—acting perfectly yet remaining free from karma's bondage.
Today's Takeaway
Act wholeheartedly, but don't clutch the results.
You cannot avoid action, but you can avoid bondage. Live like this:
"I will do my best because it is right,"
"The result belongs to the Lord, not to my ego."
This is the secret of being busy outside, free inside—karma on the surface, freedom at the core.
JAI SHRI KRISHNA👐👏💛💖💖💕💫🙏🙌🙇
