Shloka 1
Sanskrit:
जितात्मनः प्रशान्तस्य परमात्मा समाहितः |
शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु तथा मानापमानयोः ॥ ६.७ ॥
Transliteration:
Jitātmanaḥ praśāntasya paramātmā samāhitaḥ,
Śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkheṣhu tathā mānāpamānayoḥ.
Meaning:
For one who has conquered the self and attained perfect peace, the Supreme Self is steadily established — equally in heat and cold, pleasure and pain, honor and dishonor.
Explanation:
When you master your lower self and become peaceful inside, the Supreme dwells steadily within you. Heat or cold, joy or sorrow, praise or insult — nothing disturbs you anymore. Unshakable balance is the sign of real progress!

Shloka 2
Sanskrit:
ज्ञानविज्ञानतृप्तात्मा कूटस्थो विजितेन्द्रियः |
युक्त इत्युच्यते योगी समलोष्टाश्मकाञ्चनः ॥ ६.८ ॥
Transliteration:
Jñāna-vijñāna-tṛiptātmā kūṭastho vijitendriyaḥ,
Yukta ityuchyate yogī sama-loṣṭāśma-kāñchanaḥ.
Meaning:
The yogi who is satisfied with knowledge and realization, who is steady like a mountain, who has conquered the senses, and who regards a lump of earth, a stone, and gold as the same — he is said to be established in yoga.
Explanation:
A true yogi is content with spiritual wisdom, unshakable inside, and fully in control of the senses. For him, a piece of mud, a stone, or gold hold equal value — no greed, no aversion. Such evenness is the mark of a united soul!

Shloka 3
Sanskrit:
सुहृन्मित्रार्युदासीनमध्यस्थद्वेष्यबन्धुषु |
साधुष्वपि च पापेषु समबुद्धिर्विशिष्यते ॥ ६.९ ॥
Transliteration:
Suhṛin-mitrāryudāsīna-madhyastha-dveṣhya-bandhuṣhu,
Sādhuṣhv api cha pāpeṣhu sama-buddhir viśhiṣhyate.
Meaning:
The yogi who has equal vision toward well-wishers, friends, enemies, neutrals, mediators, the hateful, relatives, saints, and sinners alike — he is considered the best.
Explanation:
The highest stage! The yogi sees everyone with the same balanced mind — whether they are dear ones, enemies, strangers, or even sinners and saints. No partiality, no judgment. This equal vision is the crowning glory of yoga!

Today’s TakeawayTrue yoga brings unshakable peace and equal vision! Conquer yourself, stay steady in opposites (heat-cold, honor-dishonor), treat gold and mud the same, and look upon all beings — friends or foes, good or bad — with the same kind, balanced mind. This is the real sign of a great yogi. Cultivate equanimity and watch your spiritual growth soar!
