Daily Bhagavad Gita Inspiration 📖✨| Day 48 헛M-Day Bhagvad Gita Quote | Chapter 3: Karma Yoga |

Shloka 16

🌟 Sanskrit:
एवं प्रवर्तितं चक्रं नानुवर्तयतीह यः |

अघायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघं पार्थ स जीवति || 3.16 ||

🌟 Transliteration:

evaṁ pravartitaṁ cakraṁ nānuvartayatīha yaḥ |

aghāyur indriyārāmo moghaṁ pārtha sa jīvati ||

🌟 Meaning:
O Partha, one who does not follow in human life the cycle of sacrifice thus established by the Vedas certainly leads a life full of sin. Living only for the satisfaction of the senses, such a person lives in vain.

🌟 Explanation:
Krishna issues a powerful indictment of a purely selfish life. He refers to the great cosmic wheel of sacrifice (cakram )he has just described. Anyone who refuses to participate in this cycle (nānuvartayati) is described with two strong terms:

  1. Aghāyuḥ : Their life is full of sin.

  2. Indriyārāmaḥ : Their only pleasure is the delight of the senses.
    Krishna concludes that for such a person, who only takes from the system and does not give back, their life is mogham - useless, pointless, and lived in vain.

Shloka 17

🌟 Sanskrit:
यस्त्वात्मरतिरेव स्यादात्मतृप्तश्च मानवः |

आत्मन्येव च सन्तुष्टस्तस्य कार्यं न विद्यते || 3.17 ||

🌟 Transliteration:

yas tvātma-ratir eva syād ātma-tṛptaś ca mānavaḥ |

ātmanyeva ca santuṣṭas tasya kāryaṁ na vidyate ||

🌟 Meaning:
But for one who takes pleasure in the Self, whose human life is one of self-realization, and who is satisfied in the Self only, fully satiated—for him there is no duty.

🌟 Explanation:
This verse introduces a crucial exception to the rule of prescribed duties. Krishna describes the fully self-realized soul. Such a person is:

  • Ātma-ratiḥ : Delighting only in the Self.

  • Ātma-tṛptaḥ :Completely satisfied by the Self.

  • Ātmanyeva... santuṣṭaḥ : Content in the Self alone.
    For such a rare, enlightened individual who has transcended all material desires and attachments, there is no prescribed duty (kāryaṁ na vidyate) because they have already achieved the ultimate goal of all duties.

Today’s Takeaway

Live for a purpose beyond pleasure. A life dedicated only to satisfying your own senses is, in the eyes of the Gita, a life lived in vain. True fulfillment comes from recognizing your place in the larger cosmic order and contributing to it through selfless action. The goal is to become so inwardly fulfilled that you no longer need anything from the world, but until then, your duty is to serve it. 🌟

JAI SHRI KRISHNA.✋👐👏💓💕💗💖💛💟💞💫🙇🙌🙏
