Daily Bhagavad Gita Inspiration 📖✨| Day 56 🔥M-Day Bhagvad Gita Quote | Chapter 3: Karma Yoga |

Shloka 36

🌟 Sanskrit:
अर्जुन उवाच |

अथ केन प्रयुक्तोऽयं पापं चरति पूरुषः |

अनिच्छन्नपि वार्ष्णेय बलादिव नियोजितः || 3.36 ||

🌟 Transliteration:

arjuna uvāca |

atha kena prayukto ’yaṁ pāpaṁ carati pūruṣaḥ |

anicchann api vārṣṇeya balād iva niyojitaḥ ||

🌟 Meaning:
Arjuna said: O descendant of Vrishni, by what is one impelled to sinful acts, even unwillingly, as if engaged by force?

🌟 Explanation:
Arjuna asks a question that gets to the heart of the human struggle. He wants to know what powerful force impels a person to commit sinful acts (pāpaṁ carati), even when they don't want to (anicchann api). He describes it as being pushed "as if by force" (balād iva). This question shows that Arjuna understands that there is a powerful, internal enemy that derails our best intentions, and he wants Krishna to identify it.

Shloka 37

🌟 Sanskrit:
श्रीभगवानुवाच |

काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भवः |

महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम् || 3.37 ||

🌟 Transliteration:

śrī-bhagavān uvāca |

kāma eṣa krodha eṣa rajo-guṇa-samudbhavaḥ |

mahāśano mahā-pāpmā viddhy enam iha vairiṇam ||

🌟 Meaning:
The Supreme Lord said: It is lust alone, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring, sinful enemy of this world.

🌟 Explanation:
Krishna gives a direct and powerful answer. He identifies the enemy as kāma-lust, or intense material desire. This lust is born from the mode of passion (rajo-guṇa). When this lust is not satisfied, it transforms into its close companion, wrath (krodha). Krishna describes this lust as "all-devouring" (mahāśano) and "greatly sinful" (mahā-pāpmā). He commands Arjuna to know this desire as the true enemy (vairinam) within this world.

Today’s Takeaway

Know your true enemy. We often blame external circumstances or other people for our mistakes. The Gita, however, points inward. The real enemy is the insatiable fire of material desire (kāma) burning within us. It is the force that hijacks our intelligence and compels us to act against our better judgment. By identifying this internal enemy, we can begin the real work of conquering it, not by force, but by a higher wisdom and a deeper satisfaction. 🕵️‍♂️🔥

JAI SHRI KRISHNA👐👏💕💛💞💫🙌🙇🙏
