Shloka 1
Sanskrit:
मत्तः परतरं नान्यत्किञ्चिदस्ति धनञ्जय |
मयि सर्वमिदं प्रोतं सूत्रे मणिगणा इव ॥ ७.७ ॥
Transliteration:
Mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat kiñchid asti dhanañjaya,
Mayi sarvam idaṁ protaṁ sūtre maṇi-gaṇā iva.
Meaning:
O Dhananjaya (Arjuna), there is nothing superior to Me. Everything in this universe is strung on Me like jewels on a thread.
Explanation:
Krishna declares His supremacy — nothing is greater than Him. The entire creation depends on Him, just as pearls or gems are held together by a single thread. He is the underlying reality behind everything!
Shloka 2 Sanskrit:
रसोऽहमप्सु कौन्तेय प्रभास्मि शशिसूर्ययोः |
प्रणवः सर्ववेदेषु शब्दः खे पौरुषं नृषु ॥ ७.८ ॥
Transliteration:
Raso ’ham apsu kaunteya prabhāsmi śhaśhi-sūryayoḥ,
Praṇavaḥ sarva-vedeṣhu śhabdaḥ khe pauruṣhaṁ nṛiṣhu.
Meaning:
I am the taste in water, O son of Kunti. I am the light of the moon and the sun. I am the sacred syllable Om in all the Vedas, the sound in ether, and the ability in man.
Explanation:
Krishna reveals Himself as the essential quality in everything: the sweetness in water, brightness in sun & moon, the holy Om in scriptures, sound in space, and vitality in humans. He is the best essence in all things!

पुण्यो गन्धः पृथिव्यां च तेजश्चास्मि विभावसौ |
जीवनं सर्वभूतेषु तपश्चास्मि तपस्विषु ॥ ७.९ ॥

Puṇyo gandhaḥ pṛithivyāṁ cha tejaś chāsmi vibhāvasau,
Jīvanaṁ sarva-bhūteṣhu tapaś chāsmi tapasviṣhu.
Meaning:
I m thea pure fragrance of the earth, the brilliance in fire, the life in all living beings, and the austerity in the ascetics.
Explanation:
Krishna continues: He is the pleasant smell in earth, heat and light in fire, the life force in every creature, and the power of discipline in those who practice austerity. He is present as the best quality in every aspect of creation!
